Wonderful Pair of English Royal Doulton Burslem Table or Mantle Vases, decorated in the Blue Iris pattern, raised on unusual spreading shaped bases, each Iris in indigo blue with white on clouded gold ground.

NOTE: John Doulton and his partner John Watts established a pottery and porcelain in Lambeth, south London in 1815.Developed by his son Henry Doulton it became Britian's leading manufacturer and producer of art pottery, ornamental and commerative pieces and tableware. In 1877 Doulton took over the Burslem factory in Nile Street where this pair of vases were made.
