340 Sold Rare Irish Letter Box - Polished Carved Oak - Victorian

 
 

This Carved Oak Letter Box dates from Circa 1880 and is in Excellent Condition. The box has a crest of Carved Acorns and the Body of the Box is Carved with Ferns and a Coat of Arms with S.I.G.C. The Latin "Vestigia Nualla Restrorsum"  (no stepping back - translated) was the Motto of 5th Royal Enniskilling Dragoon Guards. The Latin detail on the top rim (Litera Scripta Manet" (written letters endure). The Patina of the Box is incredibly rich and this is a rare find for the Store. The Pictures really do not do Justice to this beautiful rare Item.
