Very Fine Example of an Unusually Large and Heavy Bronze Dore Mounted Japanese Imari Porcelain Jardiniere of outstanding quality, late Nineteenth, early Twentieth Century.
The bulbous ribbed body is hand painted in the typical Imari Palette in colours of Cobalt Blue, Iron Red, orange tones with gilt highlights on an off-white ground. The decorative flared gilt gallery top with twin applied lavish cast handles depicting Dragons. The base with similar cast decoration, raised on four impressive Lion’s heads and scrolling feet.
