148 Sold Pair of Mahogany Cockpen Armchairs - Possibly Scottish - Circa 1900

 These are a superb and rare Pair of Edwardian Cockpen chairs, probably by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh, with a generous saddle shaped seat, standing on shaped supports. The seats have original covering and the overall condition is good. The word Cockpen or Lattice work refers to the design of the back with its complex and beautiful lattic detail. These Chairs were originally designed in The Georgian Period and are difficult to find.
