Just Maybe the best example in Ireland currently of the first design for a 'Mistletoe' vase by Rene Lalique simply named 'Gui'. The design of branches of mistletoe with berries is in 'cased opalescent' glass and was first created in 1920. Cased opalescent glass of Rene Lalique has a thin layer of opaque white glass trapped within the layers of opalescent glass. The resulting vase retains the blue and fire of opals but the eye does not see through the glass because of the opaque layer. This is a rare item and a super investment piece for the shrewd saver in these uncertain times.
