415 Victor Saglier - Rare Art Nouveau Mirror Circa 1905

 

Art Nouveau Table Mirror. A violin-shaped frame with poppies. Bronze Frame with Silver Plate and original bevelled mirror. Victor Saglier was a well-known silversmith working with silver, gold and silver plated, producing in the beginning of the Art Nouveau period. This stunning silver over bronze mirror is a fine example of his work. Master goldsmith in Paris, Victor Saglier created Art Nouveau shaped pieces for Louis Majorelle and Emile Gallé. This mirror was featured in the catalog Majorelle Brothers in the early 20th century. This Mirror was sold through a country Auction house and detailed as silver-plated mirror and the impressed stamp was missed so you can find little gems at small country auctions. Condition of Frame is good but there are some chips to the bevelled mirror.
