This Large French Box was made Circa 1890 and is a Masterclass in Construction and design. The Box was made to store a Collection of Scarfs ( yes Scarfs!!,... France was a very Rich Country Circa 1890). The wood in this Superb French Creation is Rosewood with magnificent Brass inlay. The Box is raised on a Gadrooned Plinted Base which is mirrored on the lid and the detail on this gadrooning is amazing quality. The Top and Front lift back to reveal a Satinwood interior with large storage area and drawer. It is very easy to run out of Superlatives with this Box.
