765 Regal Irish Trinket Box with Aristocratic Provenance - Circa 1810

This Trinket Box has quality written all over it and the owners name written inside of it ! . The Box was made as a love Token in Circa 1810.  Hon. Caroline Anne Stanhope was the daughter of General Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl of Harrington and Jane Fleming She married Edward Ayshford Sandford, son of William Ayshford Sanford, on 21 June 1841 and She died on 25 November 1853. The Stanhope family are one of the most famed Irish Aristocratic familes with connections back to Charles ll. They are also cousins through The Duke of Grafton of Princess Diana of Wales so this little Treasure has a lot of old and new interesting connections. The Box is topped with the Irish Harp on the Crown Topped English Shield. It is rimmed in 14 Carat Gold comes with superb Provenance. What a wonderful piece of Irish History.
